Demogogery is core of leftist power. Prey upon a minority group with simplistic populist slogans. Give them an "enemy". Promise them the world like Eva Peron. Prey upon their insecurities. Now you have a captured base.
Of course, to keep your base, you must continue to demonize the other side.
What if....what if...a strong member of any of these minorities stood up and proudly professed the values of conservatism? A Gay Man who was a republican. All about self determinism, strong military, less government. Imagine it....imagine the crackling noice you could here in the leftist damn of demogogery...

Uh... No. The Democrats have an enemy: Republicans. And I think they are particularly unfond of minority Republicans. And we do not need to appease the Democrats for ONE more minute. If they want to run the show, they must win elections. Just like the rest of us.
People are disenfranchised by their own choices, not by Republicans. Personal Responsibility applies to everyone. And I would think that Republicans could say the same about Democrats, anyway.

Many in the republican party wish to pass legislation that would ban any chance for gay people to ever have the right to a recognized union. As far as the left demonizing the right, I don't think that is the reason many African Americans and homosexuals lean toward the left. It has more to do with the right not standing up for the civil rights of those who fit into either or both of these two groups. Democrats also tend to neglect the rights of these groups on occasion, but generally less of them attack the civil rights of homosexuals in particular. The conservative agenda inherently encompasses ideologies which disenfranchise a great number of individuals.

You could replace "leftist" with "right winger" and I would completely agree with the first paragraph. Because that is exactly how I believe the Republican Conservative party works.

if the conservatives would lighten up on who they want to let marry... maybe it could happen...
but I'm straight and if someone told me that I couldn't marry a girl because their God said it was wrong... I probably wouldn't vote for them either...
also, you're party's whole "those on welfare are lazy and worthless" doesn't work too well either with those in poverty, which many blacks are... they take it personally... and I would too if I was on welfare...
