Ok, I want the 100% truth here. Ok. Well the three LOTR movies were SO AWESOME! Now does any1 know if a brand new one is coming out? I want know if they're even making a new one. There are many rumors, i want to know. There are already three, are there more to come. Not "The Hobbit" either. PLEASE. also tell me what you think or heard the movie will be about. And finally, no making up stuff off of the top of your head. Thanx! BYE!!

The bottom line is this. J.R.R Tolkien wrote 3 books concerning Middle Earth. The Simarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings has obviously been done. Tolkien is dead, so that makes it impossible for "NEW" material. That only leaves 2 open possibilities. Both of which are PRE-quels. The Simarillion was Tolkien's first book to take place in middle earth. It is a story about the Elves. It contains NO connections to the LOTR other than the fact that it takes place on Middle Earth, this makes it unlikely that we will see a film for it. The Hobbit, however is very likely. It pertains to the story of LOTR. Below are several links with information about The Hobbit rumors. It appears that New Line Cinema and Peter Jackson have been in the grips and a battle over rights to make the film... nothing is promised, BUT if they do make the Hobbit. I think it is safe to say that it will be the LAST journey into Middle Earth. Also, Internet Movie Database (Imdb.com) has a listing for The Hobbit scheduled for release in 2009...however you must have a memebership to see production information. I have also heard that they are supposed to make the Hobbit.One movie that I am not sure if they are going to make it or not,but I have signed the petition to let it happen is for the Sillmarillion,also written by Tolkien.I do not know if it will be made,but I hope it will be.I think you can sign the petition at this website www.theonering.net There are other sites to sign it at,but I do not know them.It is supposed to be about when the Elves came to Middle Earth,about the Simarills which were created by Feanor an elf.Most everything that happened in the First Age of Middle Earth is what the Sillmarillion is about.

if we are lucky they'll make the hobbit much speculation has been tossed around about when and by who. at this time peter jackson will not be directing due to a law suit with new line over back end royalties. as far as the rumors of other movies, there are talks about a movie based on the events leading to the hobbit thru the use of the appendices however the great greedy grandson of tolkein, said he will not sell the rights to any further books.

If they intend to create a new sequel to the trilogy, then they'd have to cast a new set cast of characters. I don't see how the Gandalf the White, Frodo, Galadriel, and Elrond would want to make a comeback from the land of happily ever after to battle evil again and again.

naahh, thats just a crazy rumor. wish they would make it though cause the regular 3 movies were really good. my fav was the 1st one. it was the best!
