Since your homepage is pointing to http://aprotectedpage.com, this means your PC is infected with a trojan called Zlob Trojan. Of course it is important to get rid of aprotectedpage.com, but it is just as important to also remove the Zlob Trojan that implanted it there. In my experience, a program called SpyNoMore is your best bet in removing the Zlob trojan. By removing this trojan, you will also get rid of aprotectedpage.com. Another symptom of Zlob Trojan is that it generates fake warning messages like:

System Alert
Critical System Error
System Performance monitor warning
Security Alert: NetWorm-i.Virus@fp
W32.Myzor.FK@yf

make sure that your spyware and anti-virus programs are up to date. if all else fails you'll have to reformat and reinstall windows.
but there is a better way...
I would recommend switching to the Mac with its far superior OS X. On the hardware front you quality components at a cheaper price than other PC vendors. You also get a lot of nice built in features like the iSight camera built in. Thats just one example of many. But the real difference is the software. Mac OS X is years ahead of Windows which is why Microsoft blatantly riped off OS X for Windows Vista. To see how badly Vista rips off OS X check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsrkdbis6 With the Mac you also get the iLife suite of applications which is the best in class, award winning software suite for free so you don't have to buy any extra software. You also don't have to buy any anti-virus or spyware programs because Mac OS X is built with security in mind on a rock solid Unix based foundation. In over six years OS X has had zero viruses. And since all Apple computers now run with intel inside you can boot up Windows (or Linux) if you need to and that gives you the most software choice over any other type of computer. Its like 3 computers for the price of 1. PC laptops might seem cheaper sometimes but when it comes to total cost of ownership, the Mac is much cheaper. You get a lot more value with the Mac.

Sounds like you got infected with some adware, probably intended to see you some fix to the problem. Install both Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy and run them both (they are batch jobs which you run periodically or when you know you have a problem - not constant protection like an anti-virus). They both catch some that the other doesn't, so most people use them both. Best of all, they are free (or at least have free versions that a lot of people use, plus pay versions that people with critical apps might consider paying for).

yes you definatly have a trojan in your computer. what it is doing is changing your browser settings. yesterday, i helped someone on here with the same problem. she called me up and turned out she had 6 malware programs on her system along with 84 registry problems. i had her install PREVX1 and it took care of this. the programs you said you had are really not the greatest and don't detect everything like everone thinks they do. Norton is just going to waiste space on your system and spybot only detects certain things. if anything, norton will cause problems such as slowing your system down and you can't download everything you might want because it won't always allow good thing. so in return you have to disable it just to install things.
