yes you would need to be able to get a 14/3 wire from your existing switch to your second switch location and then make the proper connections on special 3 way switches to make this work

If the light is incandescent, you can change the existing switch with a product from Leviton. It's a battery operated 3 way switch called the Anywhere switch. You replace the original switch with the special one in the package, and place the battery operated one anywhere and you now have a 3 way switch. The Leviton part number is 6696-I...Heath -Zenith also makes one, part number SL6133

You need two three way switches. The one switch where you have it now, plus one for where you want the second one. Between these two switches you'll have to put a jumper wire, but keep in mind you will have to power both switches from the breaker box as separate points. On the back of the 3way it is marked as to where to clamp the individual wires. If you need to run your new wire you may be able to drop it down or up to the attic inside the wall to reach your points.

you're able to desire to get the recent cord from the recent fixture to the change container. as quickly as you are trying this by using reducing a hollow in the drywall and fishing the cord you're able to have the flexibility to do what you want. the toughest area is putting the cord in to the wall and dealing it to the recent area. Then that's an argument of connecting the conductors. i've got faith which you will want a much better connection container on the grounds which you will over fill the present one once you upload 3 greater wires. Your container fill needs to computed till now you're making the selections. call a qualified professional electrician to do the artwork on the grounds which you're lacking the mandatory experience to DIY. in case you hear to wood butchers approximately electric powered, you wind up with fires.
