Isnt it true that gays who want acceptance are more likely to get it by modeling acceptance to Christians who display an "alternative" religious lifestyle rather than modeling hatred for Christrians?

Helloooooo,
Leviticus 18:22 says,
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

The reason Gay people have issues with Christians is because God is very clearly against this behavior. Christians do not condone living in sin- WE ARE NOT CLAIMING PERFECTION EITHER. But we also recognize that in order to be cleansed and be fully repentant, you have to ask forgiveness and "go the other way from sin." If someone was a murderer and said they were sorry to God, but kept killing people, that would be living in sin. SO, we are just standing for what the Bible tells us is W-R-O-N-G and not God's design. I could care less if gay people like it or not. They can choose their lifestyle but they will never make me agree with it. It is not genetic, it is a temptation and a choice.

When some so-called Christians show tolerance and acceptance of a perfectly natural and normal part of human sexuality, then homosexual people will show tolerance and acceptance to the Christians. When you have been vilified, bashed and cursed, treated like a second or third class citizen; when you are denied the same rights as other citizens and treated like a leper - all for loving or being attracted to someone of the same sex - then you have little time for the persecutors.

Some of these persecutors call themselves Christians. They aren't of course. Christ taught love and tolerance not bigotry and intolerance. If self-styled Christians followed the teachings of Christ and not the smiting, raping, murdering nasty old man of the Old Testament, there might be less hostility everywhere.

The real Christians I know are accepting of homosexuality and judge people for who they are not who they go to bed with. If you did the same I am sure you would find your religion being accepted.

Because the two are like oil and water...they will never mix. Christians with the Pharisee Syndrome do more damage than good. Since Christians can not get along with each other because they do not belong to the same denomination, how can they expect those on the outside to reach out to them? Jesus said love one another as I have loved you, by this people will know you are my disciples. Not only homosexuals have a hard time with Christians, there are many people in general that have a hard time reaching to those in the church. I do not approve of same sex couple, however like heterosexuals, many are very descent people and some are not. I do not base my friendship on a person's sexual orientation. I ask how can you who are in the church not love people in a fallen state when God loved us, and loves us with our sins? I believe the Gay community is turned off by the church because of some Christian's bigotry and hypocrisy. They stand out like maggots and a piece of meat.

ROFLMAO!!!!! You're kidding right?

Here's a little known fact, there are MANY GAY CHRISTIANS!!!

It's NOT gays who are intolerant here darlin', it's YOU!

If you want tolerance shown, you must FIRST show Tolerance!

Or did you miss that day when the GOLDEN RULE was taught?

Until Fred Phelps and all those like him ( IE Pat Robertson, Jimmy Swaggert...etc) Stop preaching LIES about gays and start PRACTICING WHAT THE PREACH...."tolerance," "being charitable," "Loving your neighbor as yourself," ...ACTUALLY FOLLOWING JESUS INSTEAD OF PAUL!!!!! (Who, by the way, DID NOT start the Christian church) THEN AND ONLY THEN will Christians not be seen in such a bad light!!

You all do it to yourselves. Christian hypocritical ways are what give ALL Christians a bad name.

'Christians who display an "alternative" religious lifestyle' as opposed to christians that display a 'non-alternative' religious lifestyle?

Christians are people who believe in Jesus and do their best to follow in Christ's footsteps.
These people display love and compassion to everyone regardless of their situations. They understand that people are not perfect.

The people that come on here preaching hatred are not Christians, and are not worthy to use Christ's name when they judge. They are blaspheming, and are doing the exact opposite of what Christ wants them to do. They are making people hate God more.

I don't have a problem with the real christians. I often go to them for help, as sometimes they can find a spiritual answer for me.

More insulting and generalizing stereotypes and assumptions. I AM Christian, as are all my friends...both gay AND straight. True Christians are loving and accepting. True Christians don't pass judgment and preach intolerance. I don't hate Christians, because I am one! I don't think too highly of those who claim to be Christians and hate in the name of God....who only use religion to justify being a bigot!

If Christians represent God, then there is no argument here. I know a lot of gay Christians - and non Christians WHO DON'T HATE ANYONE!, and the "normal christian churches" preach against homosexuality. So . . .they just don't go. Organized religion is a crock of crap. Believing in God Rocks. Christians should model after God. The end.

When actual Christians do something about the impostors that show hatred, greed, and commit crimes in Christ's name.

I was born Christian and have been bi for the better part of my life. I have never had problems with any religion that treats people fairly.

If "Christians" would accept gays, then gays will accept "Christians."

Newsflash: We don't want your acceptance. We just want some equality and rights. Just like every other human being.
