He built computers with cheep leftover parts and sold them directly to people ,schools , businesses ..etc ...waiting to be duped! How was this possible? Who helped this crook?

He's not #1, and everyone helped position Dell to where it is today. He just has a better business model than most of the major competitors in the industry. But, having one doesn't make you better in any stretch of the concept.

As you can see by the desktop/server prices on Dell.com's website, prices have gone up substantially. This is partially due to that there are fewer OEM competitors in the US market today than there were 5 years ago. IBM no longer builds desktop pcs. Sony only has the VAIO notebook. And, HP/Compaq has its executive management shuffling problems to deal with. So, if Dell is seen as a dominant player, it's because no one else can compete with the less than 7 days of inventory in stock, or the supply chain management that Dell uses for getting custom-built computers to its customers.

Just stating it as it is. I own Dell computers because they're reliable machines, easy to find/buy upgrade parts, and they're pretty good for the price and performance.

Its all about good marketing and sales. don't hate someone for becoming a billionaire, give him credit for being A LOT smarter than you
