Some do some do not. A lot of the Southern people now are transplanted from the North and we are losing some of the accent. Some words I say can sound country, but others don't. It also depends how far in the state you go. I am from Middle Georgia, so my accent is not as deep as those from Southern Georgia.

Yeah, but it seems like southern accents almost stop at the Florida border. There are so many people who aren't from here (Florida) so it gets watered down a lot. I personally don't have an accent and I have lived here all my life. But yeah, most people from southern states do have strong accents.

I used to think so, but oddly enough that's not always so. We're training people from Alabama here in Indiana for our new plant opening there. I was expecting really thick southern accents, but they speak like I do.

depends on how far south, my relatives live in Tencee and Georgia and because they didn't grow up there, you can't really tell, their children have a little bit of a drawl but not heavy. People from the Carolina's and deep south I believe have heavy southern drawls.

Yes...but so do people from North Eastern States.....Mid-West States....New Jersey & New York have unique accents.

I guess it's who's doing the listening.

I live in Charleston, SC where the accent is cultured, but definitely there. I don't even hear it anymore, but it drives the yankees wild when they visit.

not all of them have an accent, mostly older people have an accent but younger people tend to culture them selves and and void their accent.
