unbolt it from the manifolds and muffler and bolt a new one in. you won't find a shop to take it off for you. test pipes are illegal now. legally and best thing to do is have the bad one removed and replaced. have the vehicle checked to find out why it went bad. if the converter is not bad, don't remove it.

That all depends on whether or not you're replacing it or getting rid of it .If you're replacing it you need to start at the donut seal . this is located at the end of the exhaust manifold . it will have 3 bolts and compression springs , these are available in the replacement kit . the other end of the converter splices into the center pipe , this one is generally no fun , i would recommend cutting this one .

Usually is welded to the to the muffler and screwed to the headers cut one side and unscrew the other, it better to have it removed by a professional since they have all the tools necessary to do it. Good Luck!!!
