I assume your are talking about your router. The blue box.....and yes you can buy a cat 5 cable-"fire wire" at your local Radio Shack.....just measure before you go......If it is a wireless router and your other computer has it built in or you have a card you can connect via a wireless network.

Or make friends with the techno geek at work or school, they usually are glad to help.

you should already be using 2 ports, one for the uplink and one for the downlink. Aside from that, since it sounds like a router, yes you can hook up as many computers as you like (ok there's a limit, but you're not likely to reach it.) You can get Cat 5 or Cat 6 cables at your local electronics store (Best Buy, CompUSA, Frye's, Radio Shack, etc.) of varying lengths, the longer the more expensive. If you have, or get, a wireless router you can also connect with a wireless card (normally already installed in laptops, and easily installable in towers), if you don't want to have wires running everywhere. If your second computer is a laptop or wireless-ready, and you let your cable company know that you want to connect wirelessly, they would probably be willing to swap out the router with a wireless router at no or minimal cost to you.

Yes, that's probably a router. You can plug at least one more computer in. If you want to use the computer in another room it might be best to just have some one run an RJ-45 jack and cable from the room where the router is to the other room. Cable is fairly cheap - you can get it at Home Depot along with the ends. You just need to know someone who can wire it.

Or you can just get a pre-fab cable extra long and run it wherever. You may have to go to a computer store for that.

Yes you can. I have the same thing. It's called an Internet Router. You can buy off any electronics/computer store. Try BestBuy, Futureshop, RadioShack, Circuit City, The Source, etc.
Personally, I go to TigerDirect because its much more "affordable"

Yes, the connections are hardwired ethernet.

Go to any electronics store (Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, etc) and ask them for ethernet cable of whatever length you need.
