Need answer for School Homework! Please help!?

Did they have Vicodin pills in the 1960's??? Please help! It is for a big project in LA!!

I have to write this thing about a doctor in the 1960's, and this little boy needs painkillers for his Mom! if they didn't have vicodin, what did they have? and no, I do not have any! I need the answer for homework!
