I really wanna know about the gross stuff durring labor and delivery. You know like BM during the birth (is there a way to prevent this?) Does this happen to alot of people? And any other horrific things I need to know. I am not scared of labor I just want to know everything there is to know.

well..looking back i cant really remember anything gross...anything that could have been interpreted that way was masked my actually giving birth to a child :) and yes most women do have a Bm during labor..i didnt even know it was happening or happened..my husband later filled me in..and he really had to think about it because he was more focusing on our daughter than what was coming out of me!! :) the docs and nurses are so use to it..they probably just think of it as part of the process..when you are pushing the baby, the same muscles are being used that you use to poop.. so im pretty sure you cant prevent it unless you have a c-section..one thing that did stand out in my mind was when the doctor showed me my placenta! eww!!! it looked like an alien fetus or something..definetely could have done without seeing that :)

Apparently a BM during labor is common, and no real way of preventing it. Years gone by enemas were a common practice but not so much anymore.
Your also going to be in the hands of professionals, who I'm sure have seen it all before.
I would just advise to enjoy the experience of giving birth.

when the head of the baby comes that far down into your pelvis your vagina and anus are in the same place. so when the head pushes down it takes everything in the rectum out as youre pushing its from the babys head and from the pushing to get the baby out. its a totally normal thing and its something to be expected. and there is NO way you can have a baby and hold your *** puckered! so its just something that happens and its normal, also after the birth you may not have a bm for a day or two becasue it was pushed out by the baby.

At this day in time there is nothing that can happen with you that I am sure hasn't happened with someone already. Pooping, peeing, farting, the Dr's and nurses are prepared for everything. I wasn't worried about all of that my biggest worries were that my child be born healthy and safe, and that when he come into this world he didn't get switched with someone Else's child. I made my ex-husband go with him until he was ID'ed with our name on him. You need not worry about the mess think of the joy you are bringing into the world. It's the Dr's and nurses job to worry about the mess that's why they get paid so good!

it is common to poop on the table. it's something that the doctors see all the time. i didn't, but it's common. i did pee on the doctor though. they will put a catheter in to drain your urine, but i guess i had too much water that night and i peed on her. they can give you a huge mirror to watch the birth in. it's the weirdest thing i have ever seen and i was convinced that there was no way in hell that everything was going to go back to normal, but it did.

I was told at my prenatal classes that the hospital will give you an enema if you request one when you get there to clear the bowels. It is a suppository. My sister had one with all 3 of her children and swears by them so i am ordering one when i get there.
