You're already traveling in time. We all are. We are traveling forward in time at a rate one second per second.

Many things in life are quite possible. Time Travel is not one of them. if it was, it would have unseen consequences too like cloning. You wont see any programs that are legitimate sources for this, as the government would probably try to hide such technology. It was probably done to create interest in the show which obviously would work because the concept is awesome.
The future is very unknown. Back when it was the early 90s, many thought we would all have space cars when 2000 came around. Well, at least that was the 'letters to the future kids' we would write. They are probably laughing at us right now.
do some study on the search engines though. Im sure there's more info out there on yahoo search then you'll find on answers.

Well many scientists conclude that time travel IS possible; but that the energy required to create the conditions to make it possible would be equivalent to the energy of an entire galaxy!
I suppose therefore, if you can imagine a civilisation far into the future, with that sort of power and technology, then time travel COULD be possible!
There are a couple of problems with this theory however....
If a future civilisation can travel in time then where are they? Wouldn't they be popping in and out of "NOW" to observe their history, especially since this is the first century of the atomic age, that would be of great interest to them wouldn't it?!
One explanation of the lack of visitors from the future of course could be that they ARE already here, (UFO sightings etc.), representing a future civilisation who are doing everything in their power, NOT to influence the future and NOT to change their history, preferring to remain secretive and hidden.
The other explanation is perhaps the most scary....
In a way, I hope that all future civilisations fail to achieve time travel, because the only other explanation of the lack of 'time tourists' would be that - beyond a certain point in time - no civilisation exists on the Earth capable of developing the technology!
This would mean that the human race died out as a result of some conflict, or through disease, or as a result of global warming maybe?!
This extinction must be total and permanent...as no recovering civilisation will ever achieve it either, as is proven by their absence!

Into the future, or the past? There's a very big difference.
Into the future is already theoretically possible - Einstein showed us that with special relativity.
Into the past is a different matter altogether. No law of physics precludes it. It's been suggested though that, if we had a time machine we could never go back further than the moment of it's creation. In otherwords, if I built one today, my ancestors could only come this far back in time - not keep going further back.
So, it's not impossible. Forseeable future? - very very doubtful in my opinion.

According to some scientists ona BBC Horizon programme this is the past and we are all part of a computer reconstruction, like a history lesson for 22nd century brats, but it's possible we will be able to see into the past, all we need is a camera that can travel at more than the speed of light and beam the pictures back faster than light, kinda like us seeing stars that arent there anymore

Honestly, if it were, then there would be no point getting out of bed because you could have done it yesterday or tomorrow, depending on where you are standing. And it would make a mockery of the words 'free will' and 'chaos theory' ...... plus you could win the lottery every week, if you could get back in time!

time travel is already possible you see when an astronaut goes into space it is going so fast he goes approximately 0.00023 seconds into the future
