How do you feel that this strong Idle is taking on such a strong role?? Some Harry Potter fans I have talked to have been infuriated by this new role! What do you think?

I agree he does play harry well and dont worry he still is going to be in the next potter movie! And yes he is growing up and I just think this is a way to show everyone that he's not a kid anymore! and that he can be something more than the "boy wizard"
For those who dont know he's going to star in a new play called Equus where he stabbs out the eyes of 6 horses and then rides on one naked while having sexual feelings!

Why are these people getting so bent out of shape? Were they planning to take their kids to see the play? If Dan Radcliffe had been playing Anakin Skywalker in the prequels or Frodo Baggins would people be this upset? Do they get upset because Britney Spears paraded around nearly nude in soooooo many of her videos (while still allowing their kids to watch and buy the CD)?
Harry Potter is a very loved character but it should not be the death shroud over Dan's career. He's a 17 year old, mature young adult ( isn't 17 the age of adulthood in the UK?) who has the right to broaden his acting skills by trying different types of roles. I would hate to see him disappear because everyone expects Harry Potter from a 25 year old. That is exactly what would happen if he didn't show the world he was capable of making adult decisions and taking adult risks.
I hear he did an excellent job and the pictures looked very tasteful. He looked good, too. ( and I don't mean that in a nasty way)

I say more power to him. If he's brave enough to take a role where he has to strip down to nothing and reveal himself to the world then BRAVO. He's thinking of the future. He won't be "Harry Potter" forever. That he's thinking of after the films makes sense. He doesn't want to end up like Mark Hamill - he will only ever be known as Luke Skywalker. I understand that it takes a very good actor to pull off Equus. I'm eager to hear what the reviewers think of his acting without Harry Potter to lean on.

i do love the harry potter movies, I'm not a fanatic, but I've seen all of them. him being harry potter and then doing this doesn't bother me, the fact that he's a minor and his parents let him do that bothers me, he's naked most of the play and pics are gonna come out of him that somebody took with a camera phone, and child molesters could be there

I like it! I think he plays Harry really well.
And he's growing up. Therefore, he should do this.
