I didn't know that we had to bankrupt our country to be safe.

I hear a lot of "Bush/Failure" talk, mostly from people who're just repeating what they've been fed by the media... How do you mean it's a failure? I remember reading an absurd article in the news about how it takes us 16 weeks to train a soldier, and it's been X no. of months, why aren't the Iraqi's Army trained? Now, we're talking about one (or many) individuals who enlist in a military structure that has been in establisment for almost three hundred years, with an infrastructure, logisitical command, and well established support & training doctrine... so why was the rest of the country not outraged when this moron compaired individual training, to the institution of a brand new military, from the ground up? Why wasn't the individual who asked this question outraged? Because they don't THINK about what they're saying, they just repeat what they've heard from others.

How is Bush a failure? I've spoken with soldiers who've been there, and celebreties who've been there, and seen the real war, and the good things that we do every single day over there are never reported... why? better yet, why aren't we (as "Patriotic" American Citizens) pissed off, because this is being over-looked!?).

The enemy knows it can hit and strike, and (let's face it, politically correct or not, if your life isn't worth living, and you see blowing yourself up as a favorable alternative to continue living; your life not only sucks, but so does your sorry assed believe system!). Now, these scumbags know that they can play on the weak hearted and weak minded liberals of this country, and perhaps win this war, by continuing to kill US troops, and innocent civilians (mostly women & children)... even though something like 97% or better of Congress (yep, the HOUSE AND SENATE) voted to GO TO WAR, now they can sit by and say, "awww gee, we don't think you oughta be in there anymore..." Well, I cannot believe that the rest of this country is so naive that they don't understand what a powder keg we'd be leaving behind, if we bow to those F*CK*ng cowards who don't have the courage to face life, and blow up innocent women & children in the process of ending their own shitty existances!
Now, I'm not a politician, and yes, i've been in combat ( as Gen G.S. Patton once said; "no one despises war, more than the warriors who have to fight it!"), but I've been around the world a time or two, and it always amazes me how the mainstream public of this great country of ours can be manipulated by simplest means... they know they can defeat us politically, if not militarily, by playing on the weak hearts and weak minds of individuals like this...

I served in the U.N. for a year and a half... at the time, I was proud to do so... until I realized what a full of **** institution is was and still is... look at EVERYTHING they've done, since Korea... it's been a disaster! Millions of Koreans living in abject poverty, under the rule of suicidal self serving nutjobs... if MacArthur had not been stopped, we'd have one, united korean peninsula... vietnam... same thing! Africa, southeast asia, the world over... if the UN is involved, it's gonna stink!

You libs cry about the Haliburton "disaster", well the oil for food scandal, in which Saddam Hussein was paying millions off to UN officials and foreign governments, to look the other way, while he didn't just trade oil for food, but for weapons, etc... it amounted to about ten times the haliburton "scandal" but how large was the media coverage on that!? Let's see, who was involved in the Oil for food scandal... let's see; France, Russia, Germany, and the U.N. (the secretary generals own son!, in charge of the program which milked BILLIONS of dollars!) Now, let's think a bit harder... who where the 4 entities which where vehemently against our going into Iraq in the first place... let's see; France, Russia, Germany, and the U.N. Hmmmm... see a coincedence there anyone?

Some people have answered that it's not a failure but, as I recall, the president took advantage of a dramatic photo op with his carrier fly-in and speech in front of a "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banner. If the "mission" was "accomplished" then, then why are we still there and stuck with him insisting on committing more money and troops this many years later. Is that "success" or "failure?"

I'm sorry to answer this question with another question. Usually, that dubious distinction is reserved for politicians--which I am NOT.

Why is it that people are calling it a failure when we haven't even left the conflict yet? I guess there's a lot more people that can predict the future than I thought. Withdrawing our troops before the job is done would be the real failure. The last time we were over there, we failed because we withdrew our troops before the job was done, this resulted in us coming back this time. Yeah, let's withdraw again so we can go back for a third time. Good plan.

Becaue I guess I am sort of a political moderate and don't get aroused by chanting political slogans I always find questions like this to not be questions but mostly whines or rants meant to elicit comments from people who like to whine and rant. Yep, its a mess, yep both the Dems and Reps got us into this mess...Bush went to war with a Dem majority in Congress voting for it and yep they are working overtime in the political season to try to get us to forget that...and yep, you appear to be buying it. It will end when we stop eating the crap that politicians feed us and get a massive influx of new people in public office. Don't see those people running on either party this time. So it ends with you and your ballot and you are eating it up so guess it does not end.

I don't know about failure.

Seems to me that we took the fight to their country instead of waiting for it to come to ours.

Sounds more like a success to me.
