My father died Jan. 2nd this year. He and my 20 yr old daughter were extremely close and his death has been very very hard on her not to mention that in the last year she has lost her best friend, her step-mother and now her grandfather. My father babysat her as a child and they watched E.T. so many times that they had to replace the movie several times. She called it E.T. monkey. This is what happened to her today.... On her way to the Doctors office she was walking up the stairs and heard something when she looked down she saw a little E.T. plastic figure holding flowers on the edge of the porch enterence. How strange is that? Maybe I am grasping at straws because of the grief but Her and I both think it was a sign from him...What about you all? A sign or are we just letting our imaginantion run mild?

yes she kept the figure. It's in her car. She asked everyone at the doctors office if it was theirs. it wasn't.

I don't know about it being a sign, but what a pleasant reminder of the positive memories for her. I bet it really comforted her. I don't know what I believe, signs...coincidences...w/e. I hope she kept it, that is going to be a great help in her acceptance of the events that have occurred.

Were you there with her when she found the figure? I think not. As far as I can visualize she misses her grandpa so much that she wants to link up with him one way or the other and has conveniently found this figure. For all you know she could have bought it in a store. It does not really matter for she is just seeking his love which she misses very much. Make up for her loss by showering love on her but do not encourage this fancy of hers for it could lead to serious repercussions. There is no possibility of her grandpa coming back and make that clear.

My sympathies to you. I lost my father 1 Sept 06 and still think about him everyday. Certainly the mind can do strange things. This might be coincidence and maybe not. Its totally real for you im sure. It sure may seem that he is there watching out for you daughter and you. I would go with that. Bless you.

I believe that was a sign from your father letting your daughter know that his is alright and still with her. Our loved ones do that sometimes after they pass especially when someone is having a hard time with the loss. He must have loved your daughter quite a bit and he wants her to know that he still does. Best of luck and I'm sorry for your loss!

If she saw that and thought about him it is a sign, no matter if he actually put that there for her to see. Just to see something and to bring a memory is a sign that he is with her in her heart no matter what, nothing can take that away from her. That's not grasping fro straws, the loved one is there all ready, it is just confirmation of something that your soul all ready knows.

No is not your imagination. Her grandfather is watching her from heaven, and he is letting her know that he is fine so she can move on and stop suffering. Tell your daughter to keep the figure always with her...
And Iam very sorry for you and your daugther's lost.

i definatley think its a sign! maybe you should collect the figure and keep it somewhere safe and just ignore the figure for while and see if another thing like that happens again.
