Freebird is probably the best solo ever, its long and keeps getting better everytime you listen to it.

a number of those everybody is saying freebird merely through fact it incredibly is freebird, Stairway to heaven has the better solo. And that different guy is sturdy, it takes 3 guitarist to equivalent Jimmy Paige.

Between the two, I like Freebird.
The best for me, however, is Mick Ronson's solo during Moonage Daydream on the David Bowie album "Ziggy Stardust the Motion Picture."

If the choices are those two alone, then Definitely... Stairway...
But out of all songs, my favorite would probably be from "On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd...
Just my 2 pennies...
Thanks for the Q :)

Freebird is overstretched and played badly.
Stairway is repetitive.
Why not listen to some real music?
Try something by Steve Howe in Yes.
