If you go to Scholastic, or some other editor, they may post reading lists. May as well give it a try..

There will be different lists for almost every school district.
I would look for an SAT prep book, there will be a recommended reading list somewhere in the book.
This is what I used for my daughter's high school years. It was by no means exhaustive, but it was broad and worked toward a national standard. Which is good if you are wanting to attend college.

Here is a link to a book list that looks pretty good: http://www.phschool.com/curriculum_support/reading_list/high_school.html

You may e-mail me if you'd like some moral support. ; )

Well we are currently reading "Tom Sawyer" and we read "Johnny Tremain" a couple of months ago. Ummm.....you can check your local library and try to find a list because they usually care one or two.

well, the library should be a good start. talk to the librarian. also you should have already read the classics by dickens, poe, hemingway. books like moby dick are always good. edna ferber has some great stories, pearl s buck has great stories about china.
