It depends on your age. As a teenager, the skating rink was the place to be on Sunday nights. The bowling alley was/is popular. Video arcades were popular too. Where I'm from, we had an arcade that also had go-kart racing. They later added miniature golf and a batting cage. There were also dance clubs geared towards teens. We also went to the beach. (I live in South Florida.)

Idk I was a kid through most of the 80's and me and my friends liked to play video games (they were nothing like they are now). We also played outside a lot. I remember growing up in Chicago idolizing guys on the Bears. We would play football and pretend to be Mike Singletary, William Perry, Walter Payton and Jim McMahon. I know that my older sister liked to watch music videos so I guess those were popular.
