He respects Brabantio a great deal even though Iago and friends try to drive a wedge between them. See how he carries himself with dignity when defending himself about how Desdemona fell in love with him. He respects him as he does the senators. Of course after strangling Desdemona, he is likely to be repentant on the verge of grovelling before every Senator in Venice! Othello is a very noble person but Iago does use a trifle as light as air, a hankie, to ensnare his soul. His attitude towards all Venetians is generally one of respect: amiable and amicable.
