My favorite is Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, excellent food, great show, lots of food, a bit pricey but well worth it. As far as I know (I could be wrong though, so sorry if I am) Kobe is only in FL and mainly in Central FL at that.
Anyway when you go in ask for a show table, where you will be seated with others (total of 10 people per table), you automatically get a soup and salad, then the chef comes out and prepares your food right there in front of you, very fun to watch, they make jokes and play around too (being careful all at the same time). You get great size portions (never finished a whole plate always have to take some home), and they even allow you to share a plate if you're not too hungry that day (beware it is a extra $5 to share because you still get a soup, salad, rice, and lo mien noodles; it's just the meat that you share). Anyway for two people it is about $50 depending on what you order, but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff is very kind to their guests and catering, I have never had a problem and I have been hundreds of times.
There are two that would be easy to get to if you don't know the area too well. One is to the left a bit and across the street from Disney from the SR 535 entrance. You'll see an Olive Garden, Hooters, Backstage Billiards, etc... it's in that shopping center. (when coming out take a left at the light and right at the first light to get in).
The next is across the street from Universal Studios on the Kirkman Rd exit, right next to Orlando Ale House.
Hope I was able to help some and you enjoy your trip down here!

I agree with Beach Gal...Boma (Flavors of Africa) located inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel. I stayed there a couple of years ago and this restaurant is AWESOME. They have all sorts of neat things that you've never tried before and the place smells so good. The hotel is beautiful and romantic. There are lots of African motifs throughout and African music/drums playing in the background. There are real African animals right outside the hotel in the Savannas and you can get a room in which there are Giraffe, Zebra and all kinds of animals right below your balcony. ANYWAY...the food is great. Another favorite is Fulton's Crab House at Downtown Disney...their Crab Legs are out of this world and the restaurant is a huge riverboat permanently stationed on the water and it's romantic to eat upstairs by a window near the bar overlooking the water. Have Fun...enjoy ! Oh...almost forgot : the attire for these restaurants could range from kinda casual/dressy or very dressy. It's up to you. It's fun to just dress up anyway.

I have three. The first is located in Kissimmee, near Hwy marker 4 (off Hwy 192). It's called Houlihan's. It is the most amazing place to dine! The architecture is amazing (the bar and some of the tables light up at night), the food is to die for (the menu is also huge, as is the wine list), and its is just a great place for families or adults. I especially loved the crispy calimari salad with banana vinegrette dressing.
My 2nd favorite restaurant in Orlando is Boma - located inside Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. Taste foods from Africa and other Pacific Rim Countries! They also have American fare for picky eaters. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet, and it typically costs about $25 a person, but it is SO worth it! Be sure to try the watermelon rind salad, the foo-foo (tastes like pumpkin pie) and the zebra cakes for dessert! Call 401-WDW-DINE to make reservations!
My 3rd favorite is Uno's Pizzaria. It is a chain, but we don't have them where I'm from. They have the absolute best chicago-style pizza in Orlando! There is one located off Apolpka Vineland Rd. in Lake Buena Vista, across from Downtown Disney.
