I have an idea on a new community networking site but is unsure on how they are built. I need to find a programmer and web designer who has experience in this field. Does anyone have suggestions? Are where can I find someone who will be willing to share a partnership since this will require time and work.

Easy: call me! :-)

OK, OK... RentACoder.com is probably the best bet for this. You can offer equity for the work, and some programmers will accept that and other won't consider it. Just depends. I've done ALOT of work for free (no $, that is), but rather be given some part ownership in future profits, but I think most people shy away from that-- it really is a bit like playing the lottery. You'll most likely have to have a GREAT business plan and some work already done to get a developer to do work strictly for an equity share, so be prepared to hand out some cash for the work.

Post an ad on Craig's List in your area:

But be aware: good programmers are expensive. Every once in a while, you get lucky and end up with someone who is relatively inexperienced and thus reasonably priced, yet very sharp, but in most cases you get what you pay for...
