well if the question is (12 times 3) times 1/4 the answer is 9

to multiply with fractions, first turn them into improper fractions (12 is really 12 / 1, 3 1/4 would be 3 * 4 + 1 which is 13 / 4) then do the problem 12 / 1 * 13 / 4. Cross cancel to begin (or reduce in the end). Multiply fractions straight across the numerator, straight across the denominator!

u mean 12*31/4??
= 93
unless u r missing an operator between 3 and 1.....the answer is 93
if u mean 12*3 and 1/4.... its 12*3.25=39

it would be 9 if you follow pemdas. 12*3 is 36, and 36 times 1/4 is 9
