When it became clear that German forces were routed:
a - Stalin ordered Soviet forces to slow their advance.
b - US forces did not move as quickly as possible to meet the Soviets.
c - Churchill ordered the British forces to move east no matter how slowly US forces did.
d - Stalin did everything he could to not offend the US and Britain.

c.You see Churchill was very suspicious of Stalin after the Yalta conference and he knew of the dictatorial megalomaniac attitude of Stalin and his drive for territory(just look at Eastern Europe)so he ordered the British forces forward so there would be no further excursion into W. Europe.
