Unless you got them on sale, $50 shoes don't scream I'm rich. Those are almost average prices for shoes now a days. Anyways, you know better than anyone else what taste your father has. No one on here will be able to tell you. If he likes them, great. If he doesn't, he can take them back and get something he likes.

You can't be very old since your Dad is only 35 but $50 is quite a bit to spend. I would think he will appreciate your gift; you seem like you pay alot of attention to your Dad's likes and dislikes so you've probably make a good choice. Don't forget to throw in a big hug and kiss with the Happy Birthday!

A lot of people believe in the old saying you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes, what do you think these shoes say?

I've never bought shoes for someone as a gift as they need to be fitted, but good luck with them anyway.

That is so sweet of you to buy him a gift like that. If you picked them out based on what you think he likes, he will probably like them. Men I know don't like to shop so this kind of gift is great. If he happens not to care too much for the kind of shoe you picked out, don't worry about it, it isn't that big of a deal. The fact that you went out and shopped for him and put thought into his gift is so sweet and if they aren't what he likes he can exchange them.

He will know that you really wanted to get him something nice and that you spent the money to get the shoes you thought he would like because you love him. That is all that matters whether he likes the shoes or not. I mean, hopefully he will like the shoes, but if not it's ok.

It sounds like a sweet gift you put some thought into. Give them to him but tell him as soon as he opens them that you kept the receipt and if he doesn't like them or they aren't his style, he can use the receipt to pick out something more to his liking...then take him to the store and out to lunch; make a day of it.

Give him the shoes and put the recipt in the box so if he doesn't like them he can take them back.

you can get him a gift card. that's always an option. but if you think that is too impersonal, you can just give them to him anyways, see what he thinks and if he doesn't like it, treat him to different ones. but i'm sure he'll understand that you cared about him to get a present and all, so it will be fine

I told you................. Shoulda' got him that 1969, Camaro SS with the 396 instead. It was only $29,950 more than the shoes, and that's what he really wanted for his birthday.
