Pretty sure most places wash everything before putting them in stores, but it's never a bad idea to run whatever you buy through the was before you wear it. And check the pockets - you never know what you may find!

Yeah I shop there, a lot of the time they have the same style clothing that is in style for much cheaper than in malls. Like off the shoulder sweaters, skinny jeans, loose t-shirts ect. I don't feel like a freak because I know I'm getting a good deal on clothing. I do however feel molested when guys stare me down and are outwardly open that they are checking me out, and its usually never hot guys, just creepy perverted men. Since thrift stores are comprised of donated items that are priced cheaply, people assume the scum of the earth shop there, but that's not necessarily true. Alot of fashion forward people shop at thrift stores, a sewing group at my school that I am a part of go shopping at thrift stores for neat finds all the time, and we are by no means downtrodden, or freaks. Unfortunately the clothing isn't always brand new, but you can do a thorough check on all the items you find (especially before you try them on). Make sure any kind of jeans or shorts you have in your cart are free from period stains, or any other stains. I always wash the heck out of my clothes I buy from there to make sure nothing is left over. Its fine to feel grossed out and stingy when going to those kinds of places, I mean, you don't know where all of those clothes are coming from. But don't feel like a freak, you are a normal person like everyone else, you just happen to be shopping smarter. Just stay away from buying under garments like underwear, bathing suits, pajamas, bras, and work out clothing if you are concerned with germs. People will definitely think you are a freak for wearing used underwear lol. But they will respect and possibly admire you if they notice you are wearing a cute top or pair of jeans from a thrift store and you bought it for little money. Usually one wash gets all the germs out, its not like there is cholera or Ebola on the clothes, just don't over wash it or you might find yourself with clothing that is falling apart. I hope this helped :)

No.. most of the time the people that brought them there have had them cleaned or had them cleaned and then sit in boxes but most thrift stores have certain standards that they make sure the clothes are as clean as they can have them. Now every once in awhile you might find a garment that isn't spotless but was probably from a clerk that didnt go through and inspect them before the were put on the floor..

All what you have to do is take them home and "wash" them.I would consider them "dirty" until you wash them..then they are a bit cleaner.I go to those for fun.Its nice just to see what they got.But beware for hidden stains.I once got something from a thrift store, bought it,then noticed the stain and RIP in the jeans!I try not to wear them that much but do what you please.

Wish you luck searching,=)

I would say they are not, but I would advise you to wash before you wear. I buy things from thrift stores too. Be careful what you pick though, make sure it fits you and your personality. Ex. I like to dress up and be different so I would get a cami with sequence and a mini skirt that matched sequins and add my touch of jewelry and don't forget the shoes, i personally like gold sequence so add gold sequence slip ins.

Yes, they have been washed or cleaned but I would clean them again. Their cleaning methods may not be that good.
