They are about the same price. Which one is better? I know the AMD one is better for games, but why?

The AMD is better for games because AMD people cannot deal with the reality that the Core 2 Duos are superior, so they made that little line up. The E6300 is slightly superior in most tasks. The advantage is not huge, but still noticeable. There is only one area where it really has a huge edge on the AMD, and that happens to be games. Yes thats right, games are where the Core 2 Duos advantage is the biggest, go figure. I'll provide some benchmarks.

INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6300 ABSOLUTELY!

It's even comparable with the FX-62.

The AMD Athlon 64's USED to be the best in gaming, since they were competing with only the Pentium 4's.

Core 2 Duo is completely different from Pentium 4 architecture. It's a lot more efficient as well.

The E6300 uses a lot less power too.
