Whichevers cheapest or suits you i guess. I would sugggest buying 2x 512mb at least. Though 512 is the minimum for vista you wont have much ram left to do anything else so 1GB ram is recomended.

Take this into consideration though. Your motherboard must have at least 2 sticks in it for it to work. The Motherboard also only supports like pairs. You can't have one 256 and one 128 it just doesnt work that way. You need two 256 or 2 128. I recommend getting at least 2 512's for a total of 1024. I personally have 2048. Bottom line, remember to use 2 sticks with the same amount like 128+128 or 512+512.
Good luck!

The RAM slots in any mother board don't support a specific size of a RAM chip, any slot of the 4 slot would support any RAM chip size, so any slot would support 128, 256, 512 or 1024 MB RAM chip. You can buy 4 chips with 128 MB RAM for each chip equal to 512 MB, or you can buy 2 chips with 256 MB RAM for each chip equal to 512 MB, or you can buy only 512 MB RAM chip.

Yeah, you really want to know what you're mother board supports and what each slot can hold as max before you buy more RAM. Me personally I would put the highest possible for each slot until I met the requirements so that I didn't have to keep buying more and more memory down the road.

your best option if you can affords it is to take out both sticks and replace them with two 512 mb sticks. it is not expensive to do this and you will have plenty of memory on your pc, better to have more than you need, it helps you if you are running more than one program at a time

Go to crucial.com, Let it scan your computer and it will tell you a lot of things about your computer, and also make upgrade recommendations.......You can also do another scan on that site and it will tell you if your computer is ready for windows vista.
