I am now in my freshman year and was also scared about that. However, I've been going to the gym 2 to 3 times a week with a friend and choosing milk, water, or juice over other beverages. Other than that, I eat just like I did before, and even have some "other beverage" once in a while. I've been able to live Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts to the fullest, and I've actually LOST weight from the time I graduated from High School.

Eat right and work out. Most freshman gain weight in college because they are living on convenience foods and beer instead of mom's cooking. So just be careful with what you eat and stay healthy.

Not necessarily true... my daughter lost weight because she wasn't getting home cooked meals... Exercise and try not to eat a lot of snack foods.

most people of gain 15 pounds in their first year of college is because they're eating junk food and drinking beer. as long as you eat like you normally do and exercise, you'll be fine. :]

Not true for everyone. Just eat and exercise the same as you do now and you should have no problems.
