Rightwingers continue to repeat the lie that most Democrats in Congress voted for the war, even when shown the evidence:
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2002/roll455.xml
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=2&vote=00237#top
If you look at the numbers, you will see that 126 Democrats in the House and 21 Democrats in the Senate voted against the lie-based Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002:
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2002/roll455.xml
Only SIX REPUBLICANS in the House and ONE Republican in the Senate voted against the LIE-BASED QUAGMIRE.
Of the 255 Democrats in Congress at that time, a majority, 153, voted AGAINST the resolution.
Only 102 Democrats in Congress voted for it.
So, the notion that Democrats SHARE RESPONSIBILITY because a MINORITY OF DEMOCRATS BELIEVED THE LIES ABOUT WMD, is patently RIDICULOUS.

Great point. Another thing they fail to see is that those in Congress that did vote yes only voted to authorize the president to take out Saddam Hussein. Nobody voted for us to be involved in a civil war after Saddam is dead and gone. It's the Bush administration that mismanaged the war not Congress. It's also the Bush administration that abused the power that Congress authorized. Even many of the Republicans are admitting they made a mistake and they were lied to.

There were 208 Democratic members in the House
Democratic 81Yea 126 Nay 1 NV
81/208= 39% of Democrat House members for war.
There were 50 Democratic Senators
(used your link 29 for, 21 against)
Democratic 29 Yea 21 Nay
29/50= 58% of Democratic Senators for war
Yet they could not have passed the resolution to war for Iraq without the Democrats votes.
110/ 258 or 43% for war

Not only are they bad at it thier afraid of it, that's why we're not into body counts in this war like we were in Nam, also to the flathead who said "p.s. didn't most of Democrats run in the last election on the premise of bringing the troops home? i haven't saw anything in the news about mass troop movements out of Iraq." No that is not what they ran on they ran on accountability for this administrations actions in this war, they know that Bushie as commanDEER (in headlights) Chief still holds sway over troops

Good show, they weren't tricked by this Administration. The Republicans ran the legislature during the middle of the night too, to insert all of their Pork Products and yet another Bush signing statement.

your missing the truth, it passed. end of point, now stop being a wimp and stand up against these crazy terrorists that are running around and killing innocent people. or did you forget about 911 already. or how about all the civilians in Iraq that die of car bombs every day. what about them.
so what if republicans can't add, who cares, we're at war and that is what matters.
p.s. didn't most of Democrats run in the last election on the premise of bringing the troops home? i haven't saw anything in the news about mass troop movements out of Iraq.

So what you are telling us is Democrats were too stupid to realize Iraq needed to be dealt with, even back then. Or maybe you are telling us they were cowards not wliing to stand up for our nation even back then.

Republican skills at math are about on par with the average Democrat's skills at reading, especially the 2nd, 9th, and 10th Amendment to the Constitution.

The fact is, that President Bush followed President Clinton's advise, and took out the far right wing conservative Saddam Hussein and his Republican Guard and Republican Palace so that Iraq could have a good, decent honest Democratic Party like the USA has instead of just a conservative, basically Republican party called Baath.
