Psychedlic-Pop/Rock Guitar?

I'm looking for a good pyschedelic or pop/rock guitar tone. What guitar/amp/effects are necessary? To be more specific, i'm thinking of Stone Temple Pilots (Tiny Music & No. 4 era) or Oasis (specifically be Here Now). Thanks
