Its also really hard where the incision is. Is this normal? I've also had really bad night sweats without a fever for the past 5 days. I've never had a baby before so Im not sure if these things are normal or not. Please give me some advice.

Honey it's going to hurt for 6 weeks and even after that you will feel a pulling sensation, sometimes it may feel like burning,
Is there any liquid coming from your wound ???
Does it appear to be getting any redder ??
Is it yellowing at all ???
If the answer to this is yes then you must go to the Doctors as soon as possible.
Also watch out for any flu like symptoms or pains in your back where your kidneys are.
Keep your wound clean and if needed keep a sanitary pad over the top of it to keep it clean.
The first Section is very hard to get your head around and I promise it does get easier with time.
Don't lift anything except baby and rest.

Some of the pain may be your uterus healing itself and going back to it's original size. I had a c-section about a week before you and my incision feels hard too... I guess that's normal. I've been sweaty at night, but I have been thinking it's because of breastfeeding - when my breasts are engorged. because I'm not sweaty anywhere else but my chest area. I''m not sure if that's your case, but it would make sense since your body has more blood going to that area of your body.

Healing gets easier as time goes on. But healing, I've heard, can take months on the incision. Of course, if the pain in your side doesn't go away or gets worse, definitely call your Dr. You can get bladder infections from the catheter...

I had a c-section and I had pain and some burning which was normal, and where i was cut got hard too, I think all of that was just the healing process, but a fever sounds dangerous and I would def. go back to the doctor as soon as possible you could have an infection, better safe than sorry. :)

Go to your doctor right away! You may have an infection in your incision. I also had a c-section and had pains in my sides and shoulders, They should have giving your pills for your pain but if your like me then you weren't gonna take them cause they make you sleepy. Your skin is healing that's why it's hard your forming scar tissue. If there is any discharge place some clean gaze on it after lightly dabbing of the excess. Congrates on your baby!

yes its supposed to be hard at the incision site and it will be numb for about a year...(weird huh?) I jsut had one in october!

Is the incision site red at all? Hmmm fever...My first guess would be infection but with no fever the sweats may just be hormonal...that's normal too.

You never know and it's better to be safe than sorry, I'd call the doctor and see what he says, he'll probaby want to see you.

I'm assuming that you've had your staples removed already?

But you're still what another 4 to 6 weeks from your post partum appointment? screw it...go in early!

Chi's are famous for needing C-sections...and a tiny Chi would be even more likely to need one. If your dog is already pregnant, then X-ray her about a week before the due date and your vet can advise you whether to schedule a C-section or try for a natural birth. If you haven't bred her yet, please reconsider. She really is too small to safely carry a litter. Are you willing to risk losing her just to have a couple of puppies? And if she does need a section, that costs between $500 and $1500 depending on circumstances...all your profits are out the window, and you might have nothing to show for it.

Be careful, it sounds as if you may be getting an infection. My c-section was Dec. 14th and it got infected about two weeks later, but it got hard underneath where I was getting pockets of infection. The night sweats sound normal, I had really sweaty feet for a few weeks after surgery. Just get checked, better safe than sorry. Good luck!

I had a c-section in nov. If it is just sore then dont worry about it. But if it is really bad pain, then go the the doctor and just get checked out. It will go away. I cant even tell i had one anymore. Good luck
