I'm 33, male, and have a BA in Business Marketing. Been through three jobs in four years and need help finding a new one.
I've got three kids, two car payments, and a mortgage. My wife is a Registered Nurse and w/o her we'd be in big trouble - but w/ her income alone, we barely get by. My background is in circulation, publishing, direct mail, etc. However, this field is where I've been having such a bad string of luck in the past few years, so I'm interested in switching fields. I am the type of person who does NOT like switching jobs! I'm a loyal employee, and just need to find a company that is stable, has opportunities for growth, and a decent salary. Unemployment payments are okay, but do not last forever, and they are pretty small as well.
My plight has gotten me very down lately, and I've decided to throw my question out "there," just to see what other people have to say.
Looking forward to anyone's input and/or suggestions,
Ron F.

In response to the "answer" below:
No, I was laid off twice, and legitimately "let go" from the other. Each time, it was not my actions (or lack thereof) that caused these misfortunes.

If you've fallen, you stand up and keep walking! It's easy to say when you're not in the situation you describe.. however, here are my 5 cents:
Find out what you love to do
Find a job doing that (spend time looking for it, of course) and don't accept anything else (even when you feel desperate about $$/situation)
If you need to go back to school to learn something that will let you do what you love doing... then go back to school...
In the long term, you income and your satisfaction will be much higher if you do what you love doing!!!
Good luck.

Well bro, couple of tidbits for ya. First, you mentioned that you were feeling down, and I am sorry for that. Realize that your chosen attitude, how you choose to see your situation, and how you choose to act will great influence what will happen for you in the near future. Meaning if you are pissed and negative you will probably piss off others and see more of the same. If you choose to be positive others will undoubtedly be positive back and you will see and experience more positive things. You rock, give it a min. you will see it will all be fine. Publishing sounds interesting.......Perhaps You could try something on Your own......If You get frustrated You could write a book, and publish it by Yourself. Just a thought. If You stay at home You`ll have to take care of kids,so You`ll learn a lot of stuff men aren`t good at, You know:cooking, gardening etc. Hope You`ll have a better luck....

WHEN YOU SAY LOST YOUR JOB, THAT DOESN'T SOUND GOOD. DID THE COMPANIES GO OUT OF BUSINESS OR WHAT. IF YOU ARE A LOYAL EMPLOYEE WHY DID YOU LOOSE 3 JOB. I DON'T THINK ALL THREE WOULD LET YOU GO UNLESS YOU GAVE THEM A REASON.
