Almost all leftists are Christian. Fact.
Almost all leftists are Christian. Fact.
Sure, mix in socialism, marxism, and every other "equality of misery" belief system that the weak and insecure of humanity gravitate towards, but the fact remains, and hey, can you beat this:
"love your enemies" ----
Uhh, no. That doesnt work. See Darwin. But if you like this insane certain-destruction moral principle, vote in a Dennis Kuchnich or Edwards. There ya go....they will sureeely love the enemy. Sounds too simple right? Sorry....thats where these loser get this stuff...for most of us, it starts early and we hang on to childhood values.
"turn the other cheek" ----
Which one? My butt cheek so it can be the first to be ripped off and devoured? Uhh...thats not the real world.
"Do on to others..." ---
Cool, thumbs up there. Golden rule should always be practiced, because its practical...it works...its "IN OUR INTERESTS".

I'm afraid I believe that the foundation of the left is idealism - with fact, history and reality on the back burner.
It's a wonderful world they propose, but, unfortunately, it's just not real.
We "turned the other cheek" for far too long, and it only led to more terror attacks, finally culminating in the events of 9/11.
"Love your enemies?" Jimmy Carter tried negotiations, appeasement, diplomacy and an unjustified amount of respect, compromise and an ineffective policy of freezing assets and the expulsion of a number of Iranians from the U.S. while the Islamic terrorists held 66 diplomats and American citizens hostage from Nov.,1979 untill Jan.,1981 in Iran.
On Jan. 20, 1981 - the day of President Reagan's inauguration, the hostages were released. Coincidence? I think not.
The "Golden Rule" sounds good to me - but it has to apply to all concerned.

Nope, the leftist require an almighty government not an almighty God. Unalienable rights endowed by a Creator get in the way of socialist redistribution schemes. And thou shalt not steal doesn't work with from each according to his ability to each according to his need.

so... Jesus was wrong?
because darwin said so?
you're hate sounds conservative in nature... yet you're stances don't...
and you're far oversimplifying the tenants you speak of...
you can love you're brother... but that doesn't mean you just let him stand there an beat on you if you get in a fight with him... love doesn't always equal peaceful inaction...
and turn the other check is so open to interpretation it's almost useless... some bible scholars actually say it's meaning is totally different than the one we attribute to it... it was a saying of the times... taken out of context today... but who knows really...
now... if you want to throw out Jesus' ideas... ok... but what I find funny is most on the right heavily advocate Christianity ... yet share your ideas on the subject?

I feel that the left is an evil entity unto itself.. I would hate to look God in the eyes on judgement day and say I supported a party that murders innocent babies in the womb . and praises the homesexuals.and lets killers go free ..they supported a persident that laid his hands on a bible and told a lie on national TV and they praised him for it... let God be the judge of them all ..of course the other side os corrupt too.. just to a lesser degree.. would be better if we could vote.. none of the above

I am either in it to win it or lets stay out of it . We should of nuked Baghdad and all the conflicts would be over in the Middle east . If you have the power use it . Its like putting in a go cart when you own a stock car to win a race . Who says we have to fight on there level . We up it a few megatons and see who is not ready to bargain with us .

Depends on which issue/ideologic aspect of the left you're talking about.
If you're talking about caring for the poor, love thy neighbor, stay out of war if at all possible- then yes.
The right is hypocritical in its own way as well-- no to abortion, yes to capital punishment, yes to war, no to caring for the poor.
In the real world, its darn near impossible to realistically be totally Christlike.
Christ taught tolerance, mercy, compassion, peace, charity-- the right ANd the left violate these in their own ways.
