Are the contestants on American Idol going to far?

Question

I'm am a huge fan of American Idol, but the people who are auditioning for this season are a little nuts! Some you gotta give credit too because they really think they can sing and their friends say they can, but others look like they just escaped from the insane assylum! Do they really think they can sing, or do they just want some fame? Honestly, I think these people should give the people who can really sing their time to shine. What do you think?

They have all gotten exactly what they wanted, which was to be on national television. Sad that they have to act like idiots to do so, but there ya go. Some people would rather be famous for wearing a banana outfit on tv, some of us would prefer to be normal people without the tv appearance.

This is my second season watching with DVR to ff thru the crap. Last season they included many people who could actually sing. Most of it seems to be people who know they can't sing or are completely tone deaf or delusional. Sometimes it is entertaining or sometimes it gives me the hebegebes. I hope some of those people are completely embarrassed when they see how bad they were.

I TOTALLY agree with you.

I also think that everyone that comes in costume... should automaticly be turned down. It's not a talent show for heaven's sake!!! No one wants to see how you pur like a tiger, or dance like a.... well, I can't even say what some of the dances have been. But you get what I mean.

I think most of them know they can't sing, but want to be on television. In a few years when they look back, I wonder how many will think "I can't believe I did that"! Especially that Ian, guy...he was off the wall.

My favorites: Boys: Phil Stacey, Blake Lewis, and Chris Richardson females: Jordin Sparks, Haley Scarnato i in my opinion in my opinion do in comparison to Melinda or Lakisha all that nicely they the two are stable yet purely in comparison to wow to me. I additionally do in comparison to Antonella and don't think of she is even noticeably so some people might desire to realize this is a making a music competion and give up balloting for her and enable somebody who can somewhat sing have of challenge. comparable is going for Sanjaya i don't be attentive to why people are balloting for him get him off there!

i think they probably just want fame, to see their name in the lights... a big dream, that is. but then also, they could just be hiring some people an act so the show is more entertaining and amusing and catchy to the viewers... (at least that's what my teacher said about the show..)

I HAVE TO ADMIT IT WAS ALL FUNNY THE FIRST TWO SEASONS BUT NOW IT IS JUST OLD. I THINK MOST OF THESE PEOPLE JUST WANT THERE 2 MINS. THAT'S IT!! IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE SOME OF THOSE PEOPLE REALLY THINK THEY CAN SING. FOR THOSE PEOPLE TELLING THEM THEY CAN SING AND THEY CLEARLY CAN'T SHAME ON THEM.

Yes, I think that alot of paople that go on and try out are over rated! Like last night this like 70 year old guy went on and sang for his dead wife which I thought was sad and thoughtful but why wait so long to do that... I mean yeah a lot go on for attention but why embarass yourself? I guess they like lokking like assholes!
