Beckahms TRANSFER was NOT 250 million. They do not have transfer fees in US sports. 250 million dollars is what his salary is(in US dollars NOT Euro's) 7.5 million euros is about 10 million US dollars. 50 of the 250 million will come from playing(10 million a year for 5 years makes 50 million) This is very standard salary for a major athlete in the US. Many of the superstarsmmake over 20 million a year just for playing. The other 200 million is for his advertisements and endorsements like Gilette, Motorola, and probably about 1000 other ads he will do.
And Ronaldo has lost his phenomenal form a bit; however, he is still mmuch better than Beckham.

Beckham 250 millions is not the transfer fee. Ronaldo talents should worth more than 7.5 millions, but his commitment in playing for Real Madrid maybe only worth 75 dollars.

At this point he is not worth 7.5 million, but Milan had to pay because they lack an attacking presence and are performing worse than Madrid is. At the same time he hasn't performed well for over a year now, and the World Cup was no different. Ronaldo can no longer run onto a ball and beat defenders 1v1, it was time for him to go just like Figo did, old, slow and worn out, next stop for Ronaldo the Gulf. I think Milan shouldn't have paid they should have held out, because he will score maybe 5goals for Milan, because Kaka tends to make average players look great, and worn out players look normal again. so ronaldo may succeed, because nobody in Madrid can provide passes the way Kaka can. Too slow and lacking 1v1 skills, but he can still shoot, I think he was worth a maximum of 4mill

Well, the MLS is pretty desperate, I mean the players they have, compared to others, aren't as talented. I mean Beckham is really the only star over there. And just look at Serie A when they have amazing players like Kaka there really is no reason that they should pay 250 million just for one player.

Of course he's not worth 80 million. However he is the entire package that you could look for in a footballer and he was a star at Manchester United, that's why he's so expensive.

it's coz Becks is going over to MLS to promote football [or at least that SHOULD be his reason] and Ronaldo is just going to AC Milan for the hell of it. Actually, I guess he could be a great fresh player for AC Milan which is wat they need to lift them up on the Serie A table but anyways....I agree with whoever said it was risky buying Ronaldo. They don't know if he might get injured again or not being able to get bak in his form or w/e. for watever reason. I guess it makes sense although Ronaldo is worth 250 million and Becks is worth maybe 5 lol JK

Let's way the facts:
Beckham:
Played with Wayne "Potty Mouth" Rooney (-1)
Beautiful Wife (+1)
Contract (+1)
No Competition (-1)
Los Angeles (+1)
MLS (-1)
Los Angeles Sports (-1)
Los Angeles Galaxy (-1)
Total Points: -2
Ronaldo:
Great Football Player (+1)
Brazilian (+1)
Real Madrid (+1)
No Beckham (+1)
Age (-1)
Madrid (+1)
Spain (-1)
Total Points: +3
When you look at Ronaldo's contract in U.S. Dollars, he's only worth $9,765,021.53.
When you look at Beckham's contract in U.S. Dollars, he's only woth $250,000,000.00 for 5 years.
Ronaldo should get paid more, because he's won World Cups with Brazil, but at the same time, he's getting up there in his age.

Hey MJ
Hope you had a great birthday!!
Beckhams amount is inclusive of sponsorship, marketing, promotions and the likes but still a ridiculous amount of money.
As for Ronaldo, his form has been erratic due to his surgeries, recovery and lack of playing time under Capello, so it's hard to say what the Ronaldo of now is worth as we don't really know what he will attain. He has been one of the best but at this point in his career and with age beginning to be his biggest opponent, I doubt we will see again the Ronaldo of his prime, but that's not to say he cannot attain great form and be very effective. It's up to him now.
