No feeding tube, no trach, no vent, no no no! Please just leave me where you found me until they can pronounce me dead.

I do not have a living will, yet. Do I want a feeding tube? Depends on whether there is any form of independent life to salvage. I work in the geriatric population and see a lot of people who seemingly have no quality of life and are maintained via feeding tubes. But, on a personal level, my son received a severe closed head injury a few years ago and I opted to do all the tubes, vent, etc. then did a lot of praying; with God's grace, he recovered, completed college and is now works as a R.N. and is blessed with a very good life.

. Ya, it's a shame that the dying person's last wish can't be followed. But it's the living spouse who will sue if things go wrong. That's why you need a good lawyer to write up these 'Directives' and DNR's before you start dying. Some ppl have been on these nasty tubes for years. Where's the Quality of Life?

No feeding tube, and if not awake in 72 hours, pull the plug. I refuse to be a burden on my family and their finances.

When I draw one up, it will state not to use a feeding tube. Hey, did you ever find out if you're preggers?
