The biggest hoax I've heard of was The Yorkshire Ripper tapes and letters. It was so evil, and re-directed attention away from The Ripper in Yorkshire to a fruitless search in Sunderland. This resulted in more murders and a waste of public money. How could anyone do that? Luckily the bloke who did it was caught last year. He deserves everything he gets!!!

I FOUND THESE AND THOUGHT WERE OK:
The sale of the Eiffel Tower for scrap, an elaborate scam run twice by the master con artist Victor Lustig.
Snowball the Monster Cat.
The famous picture of a man holding an 87-pound behemoth cat. One of the first and most celebrated hoax photos to spread by email.

I enjoy all the stunts the MIT students pull off on the top of their building.
