Can you really classify the guy as a mutant? He puts on a suit that gives him powers. He is a super hero but is he a muntant?

No he is not a mutant.
Until recently tony stark had no powers (beyond his brains and his huge wallet- which is actually the strongest power there is).
However he recently became exposed to a variant of the super soldier serum called extremis which gives him the ability to tap into and control and acess machinery with his mind. He also has a healing factor similar to wolverines that can re-grow whole organs.

No Tony Stark is a billionair who built is armor to save his life. He gets all is power from the armor and techo weapons he built. He is not a mutant . To be a mutant in Marvel you have to be born with the powers..Sure he was born rich but thats not a power.
He's just a normal man without the suit.
