don't push eating solid foods for your baby! I am in graduate school for speech-langauge pathology. I am in a pediatric feeding class right now and often times parent will make the mistake of feeding their baby solids too early Just because your baby is able to chew and swallow the solid food doesnt mean that she is mature enough to protect her airway. If food falls beloq her vocal folds it could go into her lungs and she could aspirate and get very sick. ALWAYS consult with your pediatrician before trying new foods!!!

My son was like this he would always stare at me eating and cry, I finally gave him solids at 4 and a half months, he had good head control so I sat him in his snug chair and fed him two spoonfuls of baby porridge.. He didnt push the spoon out so I knew he was ready and proceeded to give him the food and he eat all of it (I waited a full 24 hours before trying him again) and he gradually had more and more He was also breastfed and I know he was ready for solids when I gave him some.. He is now 6 months and eats porridge of a morning mashed with puréed banana, has puréed fruit of a dinner and some puréed veg of a night and he is a very content and happy baby and spot on in his weight! Mums know best, as long as baby has good head control and can eat off a spoon not in the bottle like rusk (don't do that!) it's fine! Good luck x

If you are asking when you can feed her the same food you feed yourself, I believe your food might be too seasoned for her digestive system.

I absolutely agree with the above, you should grind up or blend any food you give her...at least until she is old enough to let you know she is choking or can understand your instructions about chewing food completely.

Once she get better with the chewing motion you can start her on our food. Around the one year mark is a good indication.

Just start off slowly making the food a little bit lumpier as you go.

There is no rush......just enjoy!

Go ahead and experiment with the soft stuff. Stay away from spicy foods and some fishes though.

now! but not too much at one time, start out with veggies, or beans and mashed potatoes. Doen't feed her greasy foods, or anything she can't chew. Baby food is much healthier for her though.

She can eat things that are mashed up or things like mashed potatoes. My son used to love sweet potatoes when he was starting on table food. Just be careful not to give her anything that she can choke on..
