A Eureka commercial grade. They are mostly metal, have heavy duty motors and last 12 to 18 years without anything but belts and bags to change. No tools required to get at the belt either!
As far as I can tell they are maybe only $60 more than the plastic ones (Eureka Uprights) they push in retail stores.
They might last longer than 18 years, but we're not there yet.
