How likely is it to have negative HPT at almost 5 weeks, having also experienced light bleeding (not implantation spotting) but still be pregnant. Is is possible to have low HCG due to the bleeding or just normal variance in HCG levels? Based on our timing and number of tries I really thought I would get pregnant but the test was negative on the 30th and my cycle began Jan 1.

I took another test tonight and it was positive! I am definitely calling my doctor to get a blood test to see what my HCG level is and find out if the levels are rising or not. I had a recent miscarriage so I'm hoping not to have another! Wish me luck!

Try a blood test.. is the most accurate test. I mean its more accurate then the stick test. Yah i agree, who ever try to concieve don't get it and ppl who don't try get it. The worse part is they some even try to get ride of it.

HEy good luck to you. I believe that you are. Baby dust on you.

A girlfriend of mine has two children and during BOTH of her pregnancies she NEVER tested positive on a preg test. It was a freaky thing but her doc said it is actually more common than known. She had normal periods (maybe a little lighter) for the first FIVE months with BOTH. With her first she didn't even know she was preg until after 5 months because of this. Now, I am not saying that this what is going on with you but if IS possible. She had to have blood tests with both preg. On eof our other girlfriends didn't believe her sho when she was 8 month preg with her 2nd we made her take a test and it STILL cam out neg. Just thought I'd share. Good Luck!!

i think 5 weeks after it is pretty reliable but i am not sure i really hope you do get preg sometimes it is unfair that people who do not expect children get them and people who want them dont good luck
