How likely is it to have negative HPT at almost 5 weeks, having also experienced light bleeding (not implantation spotting) but still be pregnant. Is is possible to have low HCG due to the bleeding or just normal variance in HCG levels? Based on our timing and number of tries I really thought I would get pregnant but the test was negative on the 30th and my cycle began Jan 1.

you can always get false negatives when it comes to home pregnancy tests. I would suggest going to the doctor and getting a blood test done. If you period is unusual compared to all your others then you could be pregnant. I would call and make an appt with your doctor. They can do tests to tell you yes or no
