Yikes, I remember that day. It was not my favourite day ever lol. But not to scare you lol, I guess it depends on whether or not you feel its a bad or good thing, I hated it. But anyways, I would recommend not doing it the way I did -I just cried and cried until she guessed lmao. You know your mom best, but just say it quickly, because it'll be harder the more you think about it. And yes try to get through to her that you dont want to tell anyone else - she should respect you if you ask her firmly.

Just tell her-it is embarrassing, I know, but your mom can really help you decide what product is right for you. Nobody wants their mom to tell everybody, but even if she does, so what? It will be old news by the time the period is over. Congrats on becoming a woman!

I think you should tell your mother, just because you may have some questions you need some answers about. No, it isn't right for her to tell everyone, only if your comfortable with that, but she probably would only tell everyone because she is proud you made such a big step into womanhood. However, if you still don't feel comfortable talking to your mother about that, but have some questions that need answering, feel free to e-mail me. hope20002001@yahoo.com. However, I'd suggest talking to your mother. My mother answered so many questions I had, so many years ago when I started mine. And there is NOT such a thing as a stupid question, especially in regards to this. Hope things work out for you. Have an awesome day!! :)

you should casually ask her to pick up pads the next time she goes shopping or add them to her shopping list and she should understand--remember--shes been through this too and she was probably thinking the same thing.
as for her telling everybody-no way. i hate it when a parent tells the world her daughter finally got her period. thats embarrassing and none of their business. let ur mom know that she cant be telling everyone or u wont trust her.
good luck

I would just tell her, if you have any questions, use them as a way to start the conversation. It is definately embarrasing but our mothers are here to teach us about life and this is part of it. Even if you don't have an open relationship with her, she will probably be extremely excited that you asked her for help. I would ask her not to go and tell people if that's how you feel. Just let her know.

Just tell her. Ask her not to tell everyone if you don't feel comfortable with everyone knowing. Moms are pretty cool about this whole thing. My mom told my dad we had to go to the store to pick up dinner and we went to go get some tampons. She was all excited about it and we had a girls night and watched movies and ate lots of ice cream. Just tell your mom, I'm sure she'll be cool about it! Best of luck and welcome to womanhood!

You can tell her by asking her questions like which pads and tampons are best. If you don't want her telling everyone then just tell her you don't want the whole family knowing. Make sure she doesn't tell her friends at work lol I had a coworker tell us when her 8 year old daughter started hers.

OMG I know how embarrassing and awkward that is!! When there's no one else around except you and your mom, just say, Mom, I got my period... Then she'll do the rest...believe me. Oh, and just a little warning, when I got mine, my mom told pretty much alll of my granparents and aunts, even some of her friends. Have fun!!!
