I want to make a roleplaying game with a vampire hunter. I have "attack, defense, and strength levels. I have a few terrains, and I also have my monster sizes: small, normal, large, huge, gimoundo, and 'boss'.

Dont get caught up in the mechanics. Vampires are about supernatural mystery. Once you set the "real" background in stone - becomes another hack 'n slash.
You MUST keep the PCs guessing - always give at least some percentage chance that while something may be correct, there are always other possible answers.

From there - figure out if you want a pen and paper, or a board game.
