I lived with no light and just learned to see in the dark

If there were no light...the question implies a what if in terms of what if there never was such a thing as light, so I'll approach it that way.

If there never was such a thing as light, then the universe, physics, and all related paradigms we've come to know and analise would be based upon different principles, something completely alien to what we're used to. The characteristics of life may be based upon heat without a visual representation, and thus any sentient life that evolves would not have eyes, but organs sensitive to the energy emissions of heat or a lack thereof. Much like now, but with enhanced sense of touch, taste, smell and hearing, and whatever else might exist in place of light.

I do not think the Universe as we know it would exist. It would be a very different place.

If all matter is energy and vice versa, and quantum physicists now say that matter and energy are the same phenomenon manifesting in different forms, then I do not think you can remove light from the equation.

The fabric of physical matter is, in a sense, light. Little bits of beingness whirling about in an endless cosmic dance with one another, forming structures like quarks, atoms, molecules, and so on, in the darkness of nothingness. Most of physical matter is empty space and the little whirling bits that make up the "matter" are dancing around in the dark.

All is light. Light is all. Without light, there would be nothing. This is the eternal Yin and Yang, the dance of light and dark together that is the Universe.

Vacumn?
Has vacumn light/does darkness need light to survive/I think not.
they are both non continious with each other, therefore, they do not exist?
Except in concept,to the being.

Your electricity bill would skyrocket. Personally, I'd go back to candles. Try reading Barnaby Rudge by candlelight. Delicious!

Firstly;

We'd all keep bumping into coffee tables.

Secondly we would have to edit our dictionaries (in the dark) to make sure we could cope with living in eternal blackness. This means no more words for 'day', 'sun' and 'torch'.

Also if you met up with your friend at 12pm, you would say something like, "Hey Trevor, do you fancy lunch? Shall we meet at midnight?".

Everything would be heavy due to the lack of lightness everywhere, even paper clips and smarties would be described as back- breaking.

We would need to eat loads more carrots to see what we were doing (whilst they still grew without light).

Sales of night vision goggles would go up 500% overnight (depending which overnight you're referring to seeing as its always night- lets call it 1st Night (AM) and 2nd Night (PM))

It would be awful to be honest.

Most all living things need light to survive.

everything dead in a about a year or so
most plantlife within one to two weeks,
followed by insect life, then small animals that feed on the insects
then larger animals, then sometime after us

not a pretty thought
