ohms are a measurement of resistance. A light bulb has a piece of metal that resists electric current. The more voltage the brighter it gets. When the max voltage is exceeded the metal (called the filament) burns and breaks. Most common household bulbs run on 110 volts AC and most common automotive bulbs run on 12 volts DC.

Ohm is the unit of measurement for resistance. When electricity flows through a circuit some components allow the electricity to flow easier than others. The higher the ohmic value of a component the higher the resistance to flow. An easy way to relate this is the way water flows through a pipe. A large diameter pipe has a low resistance to the flow of the water compared to a small diameter pipe.

A volt is the measurement unit for the force of electricity, sometimes referred to as EMF or Electro Motive Force. How much voltage it takes to power a simple light depends on how much resistance that light has. Flashlight bulbs are designed to work with batteries as low as 1.5 Volts. The common household light bulb, in the U.S., is designed to work with 110 volts for full brightness. Drop the voltage down and it will still work but it won't be as bright.
You can light a small bulb, from a flashlight, by connecting a wire from the base of the bulb to one end of a battery then another wire from the metal side of the bulb to the other end of the battery. Or just hold the base of the bulb to one end of the battery, wrap one end of a wire around the metal end of the bulb and touch the other end of the wire to the end of the battery opposite where you're holding the base of the bulb.

An OHM is a unit of resistance to the flow of an electric current.

Voltage required to power a light depends on the light. For a house light its 120 volts, for a car with a 12 volt battery, its 12 volts for a flashlight with two 'D' cells its 3 volts. Light bulbs are manufactured with the required voltage stamped on the metal base or printed on the glass

Ohms are the value used as a measurement of somethings resistance.
Generally speaking most light bulbs are stamped with their operating voltage.
If not stamped (inked on the glass, or printed in the base)
the bulb should have an industry standard number associated with it, ( I:E: 1157, 96, 3057, etc. )
You can go to Wikipedia.com and look up (ohm's law) for the simple calculation concerning (resistance, voltage, amperage.)
But for Ohm's law to work you need two of the values to find the third.
With a light bulb just laying on the table and a resistance of let's say 100 Ohms you would only have one known value.

Watts are measurement of power, Ohms is measurement of resistance..volts is the electric potential..amps is the current. Usually takes like 48 volts for a lightbulb but it varies with the bulb type and make

ohms is a measure of resistance to the flow of electric current. volts is the potential difference which allows the current to flow. what you need is a basic primer on electrical circuits. it is relatively simple but requires a little math.

try searching the web or the library or bookstore. they also have books on spell check, they are called dictionaries.
