and when all components(rocket boosters, external tank etc) are on the launch pad ready for shuttle takeoff how much does that that entire unit cost.

The source below says it costs $450 million to launch once. But that would not include the cost of the orbiter, which is reused on every flight. I expect it would include the cost of maintenance to the orbiter between flights though. The external tank is destroyed after every flight so they do have to buy a new one every launch, and although the empty solid rocket boosters are fished out of the water and reloaded, that costs about as much as building new ones would.

I had a really hard time finding what one orbiter cost to build, but I finally found the second source, which says $2 billion, which is about the same as a B2 bomber.
