Your first answer needs a 1/x

Work to be done = 1700*70 ft-lbs = 119k ft-lbs

Power in ft-lbs/min = 25 hp * 33k ft-lbs/min / hp = 825k ft-lbs/min

So that elevator can do 825 ft-lbs of work in a minute. So that elevator can do this small job in
119k/825k minutes = .144 minutes.
