Hi Shad,
"True love", can and will differ from person to person, based on emotional maturity... To know true love, you not only must love in such a way that you would give your own life at the drop of a hat to save him/her, but you must be loved in return... If you get married to someone, and fifteen years later, you can still look them in the eye and feel the same you did on your first date, then it's true love... Like the below quote : a good way to know "true love", is to base it on how you feel for the last person you love romantically in your life....
>>>>>>>>>>>
"We always believe that our first Love is our last, and our last Love is our first."...
Bottom line : True love is giving and a self-less act... ;)
>>>>>>>
There is no "true answer"... to what is true love... My advice to you is to search "within yourself"... to find the answer.... ;)
Thanks, for the question!;)
My regards!
Take care!

I think true love is something that cant be descirbed easily only your heart can feel, its a feeling of being complete, like you have found your other half, your destiny and all your dreams start coming true,,its where you would do anything in the world,to see your loved one happy, you would give your life for them, you would give a limb for them, because they just mean absolutely everything to you, and the thought of not having them is worse then dieing, i don't think i could live a day with out my love he's the meaning to my life,, i think true love is learning to see an imperfect person perfectly, that you wouldn't change one thing about them, there perfect the way they are, and all you want to do is spend the rest of your life with them,,because they make you feel so happy that you love every min of your life.. <3 <3 <3

I agree with Radgar E. But for me, the source of this high comes from being with a person who best personifies the similarities/etc. of the opposite sexed parent. It rings an unconscious bell we wouldn't allow ourselves to think about. After this is satiated, then the person begins to see the opposite of that parent's personality. The part that angers us, for whatever reason, is the part that angered us/bothered/saddened us as children. A cynic's view of relationship love. "TRUE love" is for saints or martyrs.

One can not define True Love except by what is in themselves. I think that true love is never waivering, non failing and companionship. I love and have loved for 23 years the same man and even though life has its ups and downs I love him. My true love....maybe....maybe not, it doesn't matter he makes me happy and I do the same for him.

There are many types of love and many ways to show love.
I would define it like this.
When you give of yourself without expecting reward.

Its really about a matter of time, example; separation from the person, and knowing the person warts and all, it separates the school boy or girl crush ; or fixation of the personality which is prominent in the person , that all so goes in time, true love is a gift from the all mighty hope you are blessed in that department I know ? because I sadly Let it pass me by, best wishers
