No, Affirmative Action is to give minorities unequal rights. Privileges above and beyond fairness and equality. Special rights to get more than they deserve, or have worked for, above a person who is white, and worked until he/she dropped just in studying. Like you, I will get hateful responses, too, no matter that I am right, as you are.

You miss the point of Affirmative Action.
Affirmative Action is intended as a tool to level the playing field of our society against discrimination. If you look at census statistics, prison rolls and educational data you will find that those listing Hispanic and African-American backgrounds are statistically underperforming against Caucasians in income and education and are disproportionately incarcerated. There may of course be many reasons for this trend. One of them is discrimination. Affirmative Action is intended (though there are strong arguments regarding its level of success) to address this disparity.
Chances are as a caucasian in California you don't need additional help, statistically speaking, to make money, get a good education and have a good life - or at the very least - you don't need the same kind of help that those other groups need.
Affirmative Action is not designed for unequal rights. That may be the result, but that is not the intention. The question remains - how do you deal with the current massive racial inequalities in our society?

"Affirmative action" isn't something extra desirable than State-sanctioned racism. every time one race is given an income over yet another race completely using fact of race, then it is racism. there is not any incorrect way around it. So, any team that helps Affirmative action is in help of a racist prepare. the subject is that the liberals have used race, and exploited the minorities, so frequently, that they have created a theory between the uneducated that basically caucasians may well be racists. as a result interior the lefts attempt to make the main the minorities with such practices, they have basically perpetuated the thought, for some reason, a minority needs particular help to be waiting to be triumphant. And, as an extension of this result, they have brought about an outstanding extra desirable branch between the races. So, to straight away answer the two factors of your question; First, minorities as an entire, are equivalent to whites in means. the only place the place the races are not equivalent is interior the eyes of the liberals, using fact the liberals could make the main the minorities and divide the races for votes. 2nd, Affirmative action is barely necessary using fact the liberals proceed to make the main the minorities by way of making them victims and demonizing the caucasians.

In it's infancy, yes. By the way, 'caucasians' are still a majority, even though less than 50% of the CA population.
Part of the problem, in my view, is how people are counted. My wife is latina, 3rd Generation American. Her birth certificate shows caucasian. And she speaks virtually no spanish.
As for Affirmative Action, it's a dated policy that is at the end of its lifespan. The days of hyphenated Americans should come to an end, the sooner the better.

Oh Goodness...I can hardly stop laughing to type this in...are you kidding me? In what country do you live?! Where you think that a "white" person is going to be handed anything that he/she didn't work his/her butt off to get...I'm sure that minorities work hard as well, but in a state such as California you're just going to have to accept that you are going to have to work twice as hard as the minorities to get noticed because of the situation affirmative action created...I'm not saying that at a particular time in history affirmative action wasn't necessary, it absolutely was necessary to bring about equality in the workplace, but in todays society affirmative action no longer has a place...sorry for your frustration...

Wrong. The place to ensure equal rights is in the Constitution. The government does not need to try and level the playing field.
Everyone has the same rights under the Constitution. Opportunity is made, not given.

It is a very unfair system, and you are right. AA has been used to abuse the hiring process in the name of fairness. It should be declared unconstitutional.
